Yesterday appears to have ended kinda depressing.
George A. Romero has passed away.
He was a wonderful independent director who singlehandedly invented the Zombie genre.
I’m a bit of a moviefreak, so today I am going to try to watch some of his classics.
This is a remake from a movie from 1973. George directed the original movie and wrote the original story. He was a producer on the remake.
A military plane crashes just outside a small rural town. The plane was apparently carrying something toxic. One by one the inhabitants of this small town begin to act like crazy homicidal maniacs. The military comes in, cordons off the area and tries to quarantine anybody who’s displaying symptoms. That goes horribly wrong. Four lone unaffected survivors must now try to escape the town, stay away from the maniacs and make sure the military doesn’t kill them.
This is a horror-thriller than contains a fair amount of blood, gore and terrifying stuff. This is not suited for children.
I will see if I can dig up a few copies of more of George’s wonderful movies and post them today.
There is a trailer here.
You can watch the movie here, in full HD.
