It’s time to write something in English for once, since I really haven’t in quite some time.
I found this yesterday.
It’s a podcast interview between two ex-Iraqis. They both fled Iraq. The person being interviewed is called Karam. He used to live in Mosul but managed to escape as ISIS took over (and wrecked) the city. The interview made a deep impression. Karam is a great storyteller. There are no war images, no explosions, no bombed out cities, no ISIS flags or beheadings, yet his tale just sends chills down your spine. Karam very calmly, rationally and quite vividly explains how ISIS took over the city. He furthermore delves into EU migration policy and ISIS’ ideology. He comes off as absolutely sincere and he makes perfect sense.
