Muslim Travel… eh…Tablet Ban

Oh goody.

More travel restrictions from the Trump Administration.

NYT: Devices Banned on Planes From 10 Countries Over ISIS Fears.

So it’s not a Muslim Travel Ban.

It’s a Muslim Tablet Ban.

Nod Yes Icon

This is going to drive people nuts, obviously.

I’ve traveled a lot for business.

never check in my laptop, I always carry it on board.

Business flights can be long.

I don’t like to work on planes, but I do like some entertainment.

So I bring along movies, music, a book or 2, so I have something to do.

If you’re on a flight of more than 4 hours with just your phone?

You're going to get crazy bored.

Baby I'm Bored

If you’re travelling with children?

You’re going to go insane.

(Unless your children have phones of their own).

The UK has adopted some of these travel, sorry, tablet-restrictions as well.

The Guardian: UK bans laptops and tablets on flights from six Middle East countries.

I am sure the social justice warriors of the world will just love these restrictions.

Let’s have a look at the “victims”.

Travelling to the US.

The new policy took effect at 3 a.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, and must be followed within 96 hours by airlines flying to the United States from airports in Amman, Jordan; Cairo; Istanbul; Jidda and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia; Kuwait City; Casablanca, Morocco; Doha, Qatar; and Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The American ban on electronics applies only to flights on foreign carriers, and not American-operated airlines, which do not fly directly to the United States from the designated airports.

Travelling to the UK.

The UK ban on any electronic item larger than a normal smartphone applies to all direct passenger flights from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. Six UK airlines – British Airways, EasyJet, Jet2, Monarch, Thomas Cook and Thomson – and eight foreign carriers are affected.Though the restrictions, effective immediately, will not apply to flights where UK travellers change planes in European airports, it is likely other European countries are considering similar restrictions.

And let’s get real here?

Those Islamic ISIS zealots don’t really care if tablets, socks, shoes or beards are banned.

They’ll just come up with a new way to blow a plane full of innocent people out of the sky.
